The lush grass of the Kylemore estate is something of a magnet for the sheep of the surrounding mountains. Every Spring, ewes and their adorable new lambs find their way into Kylemore to make the most of the fresh grass. They have been known to try to sneak their way into the Victorian Walled Garden but often prefer the solitude afforded to them by the area around the neo-Gothic Church – it’s not only people who find the cathedral-in-miniature a place of peace.
As the Spring progresses and these sheep and lambs become familiar with passing visitors they will take a brief pause from grazing to pose, as is captured beautifully by Gemma in the Character of Kylemore Range.
