Inspired by the creativity and heritage of Kylemore itself, we at Kylemore Abbey have reimagined these classic knits into collectible heirloom-quality pieces that were designed in the West of Ireland.
Our launch features two exclusive styles: ‘The Honeybee’ and ‘The Emerald Rib’. Each tells a unique story that is rooted in Irish tradition but crafted for modern life.
The Women’s Sweater: The Honeybee
Inspired by the Irish Black Bees of Kylemore, a symbol of resilience and harmony, the women’s sweater is an elegant fisherman-style piece with a beautiful honeycomb pattern. It is finished with elaborate pillar detailing modelled on the sandstone structure of Kylemore’s neo-Gothic marble pillars. These stiches honour Margaret Henry’s deep love for Ireland by incorporating devotion, architecture, and nature into each row.

The Kylemore Aran is known for its timeless versatility, while retaining its traditional stem. The women’s sweater transitions effortlessly from countryside paths to the cosmopolitan streets. The Men’s Sweater: The Emerald Rib
The deep Connemara green marl chosen to craft the men’s sweater echoes the tones of Kylemore’s neo-Gothic marble pillars and the surrounding rugged landscape. The earthy, organic colours of the sweater are a nod to Mitchell Henry’s early trips to Kylemore, while the fisherman-style ribbed Aran knit honours Ireland’s maritime legacy. Tradition and modern fit are balanced with a subtle contrast cream hem that adds modern detail.

Both sweaters are designed in the West of Ireland and crafted exclusively for Kylemore Abbey by Saol, who are dedicated to preserving traditional Aran craftmanship while creating modern, durable, machine-washable pieces. They combine meaningful design with the timeless craft of Aran knitting:
