Each spring, the lush grasslands of Kylemore draw in some very special seasonal visitors. Ewes and their playful new lambs wander down from the surrounding Connemara hills, taking full advantage of the peaceful grazing on the estate. Often spotted near the neo-Gothic Church—an area they seem to find just as tranquil as human visitors—they’ve also been known to cheekily explore beyond the paths, occasionally eyeing up the Victorian Walled Garden.
Captured in soft, expressive watercolour by Kylemore alum and local artist Gemma Coyne, this charming scene of sheep and lambs pausing in the spring sunshine is a gentle tribute to one of Kylemore’s most endearing and recurring sights. A heart-warming addition to the Character of Kylemore collection.
